Name
HOW COMMUNITIES ORGANISE TO SHAPE THE CLEAN ENERGY TRANSITION
Date & Time
Wednesday, August 19, 2026, 1:30 PM - 2:30 PM
Description

Through examples like the Right to Power Report and emerging youth leadership on Iwupataka solar installations, this session explores how communities build the relationships and strategies needed to influence decisions on our own terms. Through practical stories of success, resistance and hard-earned lessons, participants will explore what it takes to organise effectively, build leverage and exercise self-determination throughout the clean energy transition.

Whether negotiating a better agreement, securing community ownership, protecting Country or deciding that a project should not proceed, communities need more than technical advice - they need organisation, leadership and collective power.

Whether the goal is to say "yes", "not yet" or "no", this session is about building the power to make that decision count.
