We want your experience at the 2026 First Nations Clean Energy Symposium on Wadawurrung Country to be as smooth and enjoyable as possible. Please take a moment to read through these FAQs before you arrive. If you have a question we haven't covered, don't hesitate to get in touch.


WHERE IS THE SYMPOSIUM VENUE?

The Symposium is being held at the Nyaal Banyul Geelong Convention and Event Centre, 80 Western Beach Rd, Geelong VIC 3220, on Wadawurrung Country on the shores of Corio Bay. For more information about Nyaal Banyul, see their website.

IS THERE PARKING AT THE VENUE?

There is a Wilson Parking located on 7 Cavendish St, Geelong, a 2 minute walk to the front entrance of Nyaal Banyul Geelong Convention and Event Centre.


WHAT IS THE DRESS CODE FOR THE SYMPOSIUM?

Smart casual - wear whatever you feel comfortable in.


WHAT IS THE DRESS CODE FOR THE SYMPOSIUM DINNER?

Whatever feels comfortable. Style up if you like, it's a celebration!


WHAT TIME DOES REGISTRATION OPEN?

The Registration Desk will be open during the Welcome Reception on Tuesday 18 August from 6:30pm – 8:30pm at the Crowne Plaza Waterfront Room. On Wednesday 19 August and Thursday 20 August, registration will be open from 8:00am – 4:30pm each day.


HOW DO I ACCESS SYMPOSIUM SESSIONS?

All delegates will receive a name badge upon checking in with the event team upon arrival which will provide you access to all sessions. Please wear your badge at all times throughout the event.


I HAVE SPECIAL DIETARY REQUIREMENTS — WILL I BE CATERED FOR?

Yes. If you noted any dietary requirements during registration, our catering team will have been informed. A dedicated special diet buffet table will be available during the day. If you're unsure, please check with staff at the Registration Desk.


WILL THERE BE WIFI?

Free wireless internet will be available for the duration of the Symposium. Login details will be provided upon arrival.

Please note: The internet is not to be used for downloading or viewing illicit material, including movies or music.


WHERE IS THE NEAREST HEALTH SERVICE?

The nearest major hospital is University Hospital Geelong, 272 Ryrie St, Geelong VIC 3220. Further local health service information will be included in your pre-event delegate pack.


HOW WILL I KNOW IF THERE ARE CHANGES TO THE PROGRAM?

Any program changes will be announced during morning housekeeping. You can also check the Symposium website or speak with our team at the Registration Desk.


MOBILE PHONES

As a courtesy to fellow attendees and speakers, please ensure your mobile is on silent during all sessions.


PHOTOGRAPHS, VIDEOS & RECORDING

Delegates are not permitted to photograph, film, or record any sessions without written permission from the relevant speaker. Please be respectful of this.


WHAT IF I NEED TO CANCEL?

If you're unable to attend, you're welcome to nominate a substitute. Cancellations must be submitted in writing to the Symposium organisers. A refund of the registration fee, less a $110.00 (AUD inc. GST) cancellation fee, will be processed within 10 days of the cancellation date.

No refunds will be issued after 5:00pm (AEST) on 20 July 2026.


SMOKING

The Nyaal Banyul Geelong Convention and Event Centre is a non-smoking venue. Designated outdoor smoking areas are available.


ACCIDENT OR LOSS

The Symposium organising committee accepts no liability for personal accident, loss, or damage suffered by any participant, accompanying person, or observer. Please keep your personal belongings secure and report anyone not wearing a Symposium name badge to our staff.

The Symposium organisers reserve the right to amend or alter any advertised details relating to dates, program, and speakers if necessary, without notice, due to circumstances beyond our control. We will always work to keep changes to an absolute minimum.
